Rosa Rio, musician and enchantress who captivated audiences at the first two Homemade Music Symposiums, died May 13, 2010, at age 107 – only a few weeks short of her 108th birthday.
Rosa's career as a pianst and organist began as a silent movie accompanist and threated its way through the talkies, radio, television and finally back to playing the Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ during silent movie screenings at the Tampa Theatre.
The Tampa Theatre is planning a Tribute to Rosa Rio at 11am Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the
theater.
