Tres Cuentos, One Cuba November 8

El Mayor - Tres Cuentos, One Cuba

Tres Cuentos, One Cuba will be presented at 7:30 pm Monday, November 8, 2010, at Grown Man Brand Studios in Seminole Heights, Tampa, Florida. $5.00 donation includes good fresh coffee.

Tampa poet laureate James Tokley, Sr., photographer David Audet and Cuban composer and guitarist Alfredo Rivero will share their stories and contributions to the documentary film Tres Cuentos, One Cuba, directed by Fred Smith.

This event is part of the bi-annual Arte: Tampa Bay’s Festival of the Americas— a celebration of Caribbean and South American culture.

Fred Smith wants to round out the work-in-progress with a live audience asking questions of James, David and Alfredo about Cuba and their project, with the intent of inserting some of the taped interviews into the final edit.

So join us for an evening with Tampa poet laureate James Tokley, Sr., reading several of his poems inspired by the (projected) black and white photographs of Cuba by David Audet, with live acoustic music by Cuban composer and guitarist Alfredo Rivero who created the soundtrack for Tres Cuentos, One Cuba.

Grown Man Brand Studios is located at 6412 Central Avenue, Seminole Heights, Tampa. (Between Hillsborough and Sligh Avenue, one block off of I-275). For more information call: 813-238-6242.
